Project Description:

There is much discrimination in Europe and most of it is based on ignorance and fear of the unknown. Stereotypes are created and this project will allow young people from different countries to learn about each other in order to overcome these common problems. The main objective of the project is to overcome different forms of discrimination through methods of giving the opportunity to young people to learn from each other and to develop friendships. Also exchanging good practices between each other to allow for a stronger approach to combating discrimination and xenophobia in youth. We will cover various fields of discrimination and marginalisation that youth experience today, including gender equality, bullying, various forms of discrimination like race, religion and orientation and we will also review EU policy regarding equality and discrimination.
As a result of the freedom of mobility within the EU we see a great increase in young people moving to other EU countries to work or simply to live there and this gives rise to a lot of discrimination and in many cases problems for the local communities and also the foreigners living in these countries.
Our project hopes to address these issues and bring to light methods for better understanding and cooperation so that we can truly live united in Europe with all our diversities. The idea is to understand and respect the different cultures by embracing similarities and understanding and respecting differences. Taking the good elements of other cultures, traditions and customs and allowing them to form our own cultures and individualities. We will celebrate and embrace the European moto of United in Diversity and teach young people how to live by this moto to promote enlargement of the EU and peaceful cooperation and existence of its citizens.
